Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is a hereditary disease. According to the statistics of the US Bureau of Disease Control, the probability of the disease is about one in 100,000. The International Retina Organization (Retina International, RI) is the world’s best-known non-profit organization. Apart from paying attention to research on retinopathy treatment and related prevention science, the biennial World Conference attracts more than 2,000 global retinal diseases. Physician experts and scholars, as well as the participation of patients and their families. The approximately one-week Retina International World Congress gathers leaders and patients of retinopathy organizations around the world to discuss the important research progress of retinopathy in science and medicine.

The Taiwan Retinopathy Association is a non-profit organization composed of patients with retinopathy. The Taiwan Retinopathy Association was established in 2007 and has 450 members since 2012.
