The Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVTS) is the most important society in Asian Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. The society is large and the level of academic activities is booming. It is also the world’s four largest thoracic and out-of-heart academic society on the CTS website with the American AATS, STS, and European EACTS. It also has a regular academic magazine of Asian Annals. ASCVTS is indeed an academic exchange of Asian thoracic and cardiac surgery. The most important platform.

The “Annual Meeting of the Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in Asia” is a large-scale international conference organized by the ASCVTS in Asia every year since 1993. Under the coordination and promotion of this non-government medical organization, relevant medical and health communication activities will be carried out to promote the collection of academic information and research information exchange among experts and scholars of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery around the world.

The first and third sessions were successively held in Fukuoka, Nagoya, Japan, and Yokohama from 1993 to 1995, followed by Seoul, South Korea (1996), Taipei, Taiwan (1997), Tokyo, Japan (1998), and Singapore (1999). Fukuoka, Japan (2000), Nagoya, Japan (2001), Jeju, South Korea (2002), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2003), Istanbul, Turkey (2004), Chiang Mai, Thailand (2005), Osaka, Japan (2006), Beijing, China (2007) , Singapore (2008) and other countries, recently held in Turkey (2014), Hong Kong (2015) regularly every year, and become an important international medical academic conference in Asia, each session, about nearly a thousand experts and scholars to participate in the event.

The Taiwan Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Society has been established since the Republic of China in 1975. It is dedicated to the study of thoracic and cardiac vascular surgery in the country, as well as personnel training and training. Taiwanese thoracic surgery has a very high standard in heart transplantation, ECMO, and chest endoscopic surgery, lung transplantation, and aortic stenting. The 17th ASCVTS in 2009 was successfully managed by the chairman Dr. Doo Tangzheng, and it was vividly remembered by all countries. Seven years later, in order to further enhance the academic exchanges between the domestic medical community and foreign countries, Dr. Wang Liangshun, the chairman of the board, worked hard. Next, we successfully won the right to host the 24th International Conference in 2016. We took the opportunity to invite well-known foreign experts to report on the exchange of experience, to demonstrate the strength of Taiwan’s thoracic surgery, and to improve related medical treatment such as domestic thorax and cardiovascular surgery. Study academic status and give international experts the opportunity to learn about Taiwan’s efforts in this area.
