詳細內容

The Asia-Pacific Innovative Thoracic Surgery Symposium (APITS) 2026 will be held from July 11 to 12, 2026, at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC), Taipei, Taiwan. The two-day symposium will be jointly convened with the Annual Meeting of the Taiwan Society of Thoracic Surgeons (TSTS).

Since Single-Port Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) for major lung resection was first introduced to the global medical community in 2010, it has marked a new era in thoracic surgery. The inaugural Asian Single-Port VATS Symposium represented the first comprehensive opportunity for the Asia-Pacific region to engage with and explore this innovative surgical technique.

With continuous advancements in medical technology, the scope of the symposium has expanded beyond VATS to include Robotic-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (RATS) and advanced bronchoscopy, among other emerging fields. In recognition of this broader academic coverage, the meeting was officially renamed the Asia-Pacific Innovative Thoracic Surgery Symposium (APITS).

The 2026 APITS & TSTS Joint Meeting will span two days and be conducted across two parallel session rooms, offering comprehensive and in-depth discussions on a wide range of thoracic surgical topics. Renowned international and regional experts will be invited to deliver lectures and participate in focused panel discussions on selected themes. The meeting is expected to attract approximately 600 participants, including 300 domestic and 300 international attendees, fostering extensive academic exchange and collaboration within the global thoracic surgery community.
