詳細內容
The 9th Annual Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society for Artificial Organs (APSAO 2026) will be convened under the authorization of the Asia-Pacific Society for Artificial Organs (APSAO). Founded in 2013, APSAO is dedicated to advancing academic research, clinical applications, and industrial development in the field of artificial organs across the Asia-Pacific region. Since its establishment, APSAO has brought together physicians, scientists, engineers, and clinical researchers from Asia, Australia, and the Pacific to promote innovation and collaboration in artificial organs, apheresis, tissue engineering, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine.
Since the inaugural congress held in South Korea in 2015, APSAO has grown into one of the most influential international academic conferences in the fields of artificial organs and medical technologies in the Asia-Pacific region. The congress is held regularly and hosted on a rotating basis by academic institutions in member countries. Conference themes are developed in response to the latest scientific advances and clinical challenges in artificial organ research and practice, covering a wide range of topics including artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices, artificial kidneys and dialysis therapies, artificial lungs and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), blood purification technologies, biomaterials and tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and digital health.
Previous APSAO congresses have consistently attracted clinicians, researchers, and experts from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and North America, with attendance typically ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 participants and approximately 300 abstract submissions. The scientific program features a rich variety of formats, including plenary lectures, thematic symposia, panel discussions, roundtable sessions, early-career researcher forums, and poster presentations. These platforms enable participants to stay abreast of the latest developments in artificial organ technologies, foster cross-national and interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to improving patient outcomes and addressing future healthcare challenges.
In addition to disseminating cutting-edge research and technological advances in artificial organs, APSAO 2026 will provide in-depth discussions on multidisciplinary topics such as team-based care, home-based healthcare, health economics, and academia–industry collaboration. The congress plans to invite distinguished international and regional scholars to deliver keynote lectures on emerging global issues and the future directions of artificial organ technologies. Through these exchanges, the meeting aims to strengthen regional academic collaboration and technology transfer, with particular attention to capacity building in Asia-Pacific countries and the broader adoption of innovative artificial organ technologies.
Building on its longstanding tradition of academic excellence and international impact, the 9th APSAO Congress will convene leading global experts and emerging scholars in artificial organ science to focus on critical healthcare technology challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. Together, participants will explore pathways toward more innovative, accessible, and sustainable healthcare solutions for the future.
