The 57th Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health Conference (APACPH 2026) will be convened under the authorization of the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH). Established in 1984 by six founding schools of public health and medicine in the Asia-Pacific region, APACPH has grown into the largest and most influential non-governmental professional organization in public health and health sciences in the region. It currently comprises 105 member institutions from 23 countries, including, among others, the National University of Singapore, the University of Tokyo, Mahidol University, Yonsei University, the Korean Society of Public Health, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Southern California, the University of Malaya, Universitas Indonesia, the Indonesian Public Health Association, and Queensland University of Technology.
The mission of APACPH is to strengthen public health education, research capacity, and population health services through collaboration among member institutions, thereby enhancing the region’s capacity to promote health and well-being and to address emerging and evolving public health challenges across the Asia-Pacific.
Since its inaugural conference held in Hawaii, USA, in 1984, the APACPH Annual Conference has become one of the most prominent international public health conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference is held annually and hosted on a rotating basis by academic institutions in member countries. Conference themes are carefully designed in response to contemporary global and regional public health challenges, encompassing a wide range of topics such as health promotion, prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, health policy and system reform, climate change and health, health inequities, environmental and occupational health, ageing and long-term care, and digital health.
In recent years, the APACPH Annual Conference has consistently attracted scholars, practitioners, and policymakers from the Asia-Pacific region as well as Europe, the Americas, and Africa. Attendance typically ranges from 1,000 to 2,000 participants, with 500 to over 1,000 abstract submissions per year. The scientific program features diverse formats, including plenary lectures, thematic symposia, policy forums, roundtable discussions, early-career researcher workshops, poster presentations, and international collaboration forums. These platforms enable participants to stay abreast of global public health trends while gaining in-depth insights into local experiences and innovative strategies across the Asia-Pacific.
A core mission of the APACPH Annual Conference is to promote regional academic collaboration and resource sharing, with particular emphasis on capacity building and policy translation in low- and middle-income countries. Through its convening role, APACPH serves as a vital bridge connecting academic institutions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and international bodies, thereby accelerating the localization of knowledge and the implementation of evidence-informed policies.
Building on its long-standing professional excellence and international impact, the 57th APACPH Conference will bring together leading global public health experts and emerging scholars to focus on the most pressing public health challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region. The conference aims to foster dialogue and collective action toward building more resilient, equitable, and sustainable health societies for the future.
