CIE is founded in 1913; it is an international authoritative organization in the field of optics, lighting, color, and color space science. It has established a number of standards and technical documents that are widely used by the community. These include international or regional standards organizations such as ISO, IEC, and CEN, all adopting CIE standards or consulting CIE experts. Currently, it has 36 national members, 3 associate national members, 17 junior members, and 15 manufacturers members. There are 5 technical working groups within the organization. Several technical committees (TCs) are set up for different research purposes. . Each year, regular international seminars are held, including one mid-term conference every two years, and a general meeting once every four years.
CIE 2018 is the first series of CIE symposiums hosted by non-state members (NC) since the establishment of CIE for years. For the first time, the host country decided on the theme of the seminar. The government promotes the smart lighting of smart cities as the theme, matches the future lighting trends of the healthy lighting curriculum, and combines the domestic lighting exhibition (2018.4.25-4.27), and arranges the display of outdoor smart city lighting demonstration application fields, showing that Taiwan is in advanced lighting the strength of R&D, manufacturing and application and enhancement of the application image of Green Energy Technology. The five-day course is combined with various international seminars such as training courses, seminars, exhibitions, field displays and international standards conferences.
