詳細內容

The World Society of Pain Medicine (hereinafter referred to as WIP) was established in 1993. It is a global organization that aims to promote the best practices of pain medicine in the 21st century. Its mission is to bring together the world’s most well-known experts in pain medicine to promote interventional pain. The advancement and standardization of practice fulfills its mission by sponsoring and certifying education and training programs for pain physicians. And through its educational initiatives, including holding WIP World Congress, regional symposiums and interventional pain field operation workshops, it helps promote the establishment of consensus among experts on the effectiveness of existing technologies and ways to promote treatment effects.

WIP World Congress (WIP World Congress) is regularly held among member countries. Since it was held in Israel in 1998, it has been held for ten times in Turkey, Spain, Hungary, the United States, the Netherlands, India, Italy and other countries. For the development of the field of interventional pain therapy in Asia, in 2016, WIP commissioned the National Taiwan University School of Medicine and the Taiwan Pain Medicine Association to start preparations for general operation workshops and certification exams in Taipei as the development base for Asia. Under the guidance of Professor Lin Zhipeng, a representative of the Taiwan Pain Society and National Taiwan University School of Medicine, and the support of members of the Taiwan Branch of the World Pain Medicine Association, the “Taiwan International Interventional Pain Therapy Symposium" was successfully held in 2019 and 2020 in Taiwan, and field operation workshops were conducted And certification exams.

Pain relief is still an unmet medical need in the world and is becoming more and more important in Asian countries. The “Taipei International Interventional Pain Treatment Symposium" aims to provide advanced education and training programs. It covers the key topics of interventional pain procedures, and features general lectures, ultrasound life demonstrations, and FIPP/CIPS certification exams.

In March 2020, the Ministry of the Interior approved the establishment of the “World Pain Medicine Association Taiwan Branch". The task of this new society is to promote and participate in the activities of WIP, as well as let Taiwan pain medicine experts participate in international societies and international experts. Communication, and then sharing and learning with them, will be of great help to the development of pain medicine in Taiwan.
