The 22nd International Poxvirus, Asfarvirus and Iridovirus Conference (The 22nd International Pox Virus, African Swine Fever Virus and Iridovirus Conference) is expected to be held at Academia Sinica from May 26 to May 31, 2018. This conference is an important international conference in the world of research on poxvirus, African swine fever virus and iridescent virus.
The first International Symposium on Pox Virus, African Swine Fever Virus and Iridescent Virus was held in 1974. Then every two years, interactive seminars were held in North America and Europe. The 21st session was held in France in July 2016. The participating scholars came from all over the world, including Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand in the Asia Pacific region; Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Israel in the West Asia region; In the European region, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland; North America, Canada, the United States; Latin America, Brazil; Africa, Morocco, the Republic of South Africa. In this meeting, it was decided that the 22nd session of 2018 will be hosted by Taiwan and the researcher Zhang Wen, who is affiliated with the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Central Research Institute of Taiwan, will serve as the convener. This opportunity will not only increase research in relevant fields in Taiwan. The opportunity for the exchange of scholarship with other Chinese scholars, the sharing of research results, and the possibility of promoting future cooperation can also increase scholars’ knowledge of the Taiwanese academic world and increase the exposure and status of Taiwan in the world academic community.
