FIATA is the world’s largest non-government and non-profit organization in the field of transportation, with a wide range of international influences. There are 40,000 freight forwarding and logistics companies in 150 countries, 800 to 10 million freight forwarding and logistics employees, and existing national members. There are 92 (National Associations), distributed in 83 countries, 106 Association members, Group Members, and Individual Members. FIATA, known as the “architect” of the international freight forwarding industry, has played a consultative role in the United Nations Economic and Social Council, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and ESCAP. At the same time, it is also recognized by many governments and non-governmental organizations such as the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Air Transport Association, the International Railway Federation, the International Road Transport Federation, the World Customs Organization, and the World Trade Organization as representatives of the international freight forwarding industry, FIATA. FIATA holds a world-wide conference each year. It was held in Geneva, Switzerland (2009), Bangkok, Thailand (2010), Cairo (2011), and Los Angeles (2012) in the United States.
