Technical Committee 213, Scour and Erosion (referred to as TC 213) is a technical committee initiated by the International Organization of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) in 1997 to discuss surface erosion processes and preventive measures.
The Technical Committee organizes a world conference every two years regularly. The theme of the conference not only follows the original purpose of the committee, which is to discuss the erosion and weathering of the earth from the perspective of hydraulics and geotechnical science, but also the interaction between water, soil, and rock. Other results. Since the first conference was held in 2002, 8 meetings have been held since 2016. Many experts, scholars, and researchers from home and abroad, as well as a number of exchanges and knowledge in the field of water and soil engineering, brought together research experiences and future research. Outlook. It is not easy for Taiwan to win the right to host the conference in 2018. It is expected that 48 members will participate in the conference and will present papers to Taiwan. They will become scholars, experts, practitioners and students in related fields to participate in the international conference to absorb global knowledge and publish. A good opportunity for international academic papers. Sharing the research results together, I believe we will write a new page in the history of Taiwan’s water and earth engineering on the international stage.
